I’m Anne — a passionate creative and art photographer based in the UK. These writings explore creative and art photography as a way of thinking, seeing, and making images that matter. For me, photography isn’t just about capturing what’s in front of the lens. It’s a practice where I notice details and think about the world in new, creative ways.
I started taking photos years ago, mostly of flowers, trees, and the natural scenes around me. I practiced getting detail into my images. Along the way I proudly earned my LRPS credential.
Over time, my focus shifted from just documenting to really thinking about how to show the world in my own unique way. That curiosity led me to study creative photography ideas and techniques more seriously. It’s the ongoing process of learning and experimenting that keeps me inspired every day.
Photography, for me, can be meditative process, about slowing down, paying attention, and finding wonder in small details. Whether I’m working with fresh-cut flowers or a weathered leaf discovered on a walk, I try to bring a sense of care, composition, and feeling to each image. Other times I am less intentional in my work and become a Flanneur, wandering around and photographing whatever catches my eye.
On this site, I share my ongoing journey through writing and images—offering reflections on technique, ideas about seeing differently, and projects that explore the creative side of photography. Whether you’re here to find inspiration, learn something new, or just enjoy some different photography, I’m glad you’ve found your way.
When not involved in photography, I love to spend time in a boat, watch films or have a coffee or a meal with friends.
